Our client is currently recruiting for an experienced Shift Mechanical Engineer based within Stratford, E15 This position is for a prestigious long-term energy supply contract in the East End of London. This site involves the supply of heat, chilling & electricity to a range of consumers in and around the Olympic Park at Stratford. The Engineer will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of district heating scheme generation and distribution equipment which consists of large scale boilers, CHP & chiller plant. Due to the site size a full driving license is essential Available shifts / Locations below: Monday until Friday (5 days a week) Postcode: E15 2HG 4 x 12hr days (06:00am - 18:00pm) - 4 off - 4 x 12hr Nights (18:00pm - 06:00am) £23.60 including holiday pay, however you have the option to accrue Paid Weekly, Every Friday before 5 PM. Skills and experience required: Must have at least 2 years previous experience Driving Licence Required Formal qualifications (minimum City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3) in Engineering Punctual, reliable, and trustworthy Able to manage time effectively Ability to work both alone and in a team Awareness of health and safety procedures Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of large scale heating, chilling and electrical systems, both from an electrical/mechanical perspective Duties will Include: Carry out the defined planned maintenance regime for all contractual obligations Carry out repairs, re-active maintenance and minor installation works on plant Attend, diagnose and repair faults having due regard to customer care in this specific environment. Be fully competent to act as engineer in charge out of normal working hours. Carry out proactive plant monitoring activities to ensure efficient utilisation of plant and equipment. Complete the relevant paperwork and report diligently Practical experience with IT related monitoring systems advantageous Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of large scale heating, chilling and electrical systems, both from a electrical/mechanical perspective.
