In this role, you will be responsible for conducting asset surveys to assess the condition and suitability of our properties.
You will play a vital role in ensuring the maintenance and improvement of our housing stock, as well as contributing to our future planning and investment strategies.
Our client a large local authority and are currently seeking a dedicated Stock Condition Surveyor to join their planned works team on a temporary basis.
The role is based in Barnsley and involves a range of responsibilities including the verification of Planned Replacement Requests, handling complex complaints, and conducting thorough stock condition surveys to ensure the longevity and maintenance of our housing stock.
Day to Day of the Role
Verify and approve Planned Replacement Requests from Repairs and other departments.
We are looking for surveyors with a relevant qualification in Real Estate and/or MRICS status, ideally with some experience of working in Local Authority/public sector.
Potential candidates would ideally have some previous experience of one or all of the areas but must have an aptitude to work independently and take a lead with their allocated workload with appropriate supervision.
We require support across the board in the Estates team, which we have been broadly split into 3 work areas; acquisitions and disposals, commercial property management and valuation.
The fire surveyor will support the fire engineering team with on-site inspections of fire safety surveys, such as fire stopping, passive fire, external walls, compartmentation, fire door surveys.
A confident Fire Surveyor who is able to work autonomously required to support on projects across the midlands and nationally.
As the fire surveyor you will be required to travel to site and write concise reports of your findings across a variety of sectors.
