You will be responsible for updating and maintaining the Aircraft maintenance manual, parts catalogue, and troubleshooting. What will you be doing: Ensure and maintain compliance with EASA/FAA regulations (ICA process) and EN9100 for the own technical scope and perimeter of responsibility. Using of technical expertise to manage all authoring activities for the own technical scope of the jobholder. Technical focal point for other domains and companies (design office & customer services & subcontracting companies & suppliers). Assess aircraft design criteria (e.g. Service Bulletin, Customer Originate Change, MPM, drawings) for technical manual impact. Collect all associated necessary source data from the design office, component manufacturers, and suppliers (RSP, NSP). Alert in case of non-identified impact on others ATA chapters or manuals respective work sharing partner in other domains or local lines. Define product manual revision/creation target and ensure associated deliverable follow-up. Define priorities and proofread maintenance or trouble shooting or material or wiring procedures (internal production). Contribute to the design criteria assessment. Provide continuous and efficient support to customers and all users of the Maintenance, Material, and Wiring deliverables. During an interview, we may ask you about: Your knowledge of aircraft. As our client's Technical Author, you will take technical ideas and create proposition documents and communications. In the Technical Author your role responsibilities will include: Creation of end-user accessible technical documentation from concepts, plans and technical marketing information. Translating technical concepts into appropriate documentation, including Visio Flow Diagrams Collecting data from a broad range of internal users. Coordinating between departments, technical, sales, training. Creating, writing, editing and proofreading text. Working inter-departmentally to collate and verify information. Brining creative solution to information presentation through pictures and diagrams To be a successful Technical Author you will have the following skills: A demonstrable track record across a diverse range of technical communications, technical writing and documentation. Superb written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and a strong desire to present complex concepts in the simplest possible form. Experience of writing 'easy to read' documents, expressing complicated concepts using simple words. A proven ability to engage diverse user and audience groups. A technical background is desired, with exposure to complex Network Infrastructures, ideally to include CISCO kit or similar. Conceptual or practical understanding of cryptography, security and IOT would be a great advantage.
