Your new company My client supports primarily highway projects across the East Midlands, taking them from conception to completion. Their services include maintenance, electrical works, mechanics, construction, environmental, civil engineering and more. Their environmental team operates across acoustics, contaminated land, ecology, GIS, landscape design and planning. You'll be supporting a team of ecologists who work on a range of projects from major highways, planning, educational buildings, residential to name a few. Your new role My client is looking for an experienced Ecologist to join the environmental management & design team based ideally in Nottinghamshire. You will help the ecology team with technical oversight, project management and the delivery of environmental services. Main duties will include: Provide expert ecological advice to colleagues, clients and external parties Lead, coach, and develop junior ecologists Lead on ecological surveys (Protected species, habitats and more) Write detailed ecological reports Ensure successful delivery of ecology consultancy projects Client liaising to ensure that financial targets and stakeholder requirements are met What you'll need to succeed A Degree in an Environment, Ecology or related field Ecology experience with relevant UK legislation in a consultancy; offering technical oversight for projects Ability to lead and support a team Excellent communication and report writing skills A driving license and access to a car Membership with CIEEM - would be desirable Holder of one or more protected species licenses; bats, badgers, GCN - would be desirable GIS or other relevant software knowledge - would be desirable What you'll get in return £250 - £500 p/day DOE - can be flexible for the right candidate Flexible working pattern - open to part or full-time arrangements Flexible length of contract but for ideally 3 months initially Opportunity to go permanent if you wish What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now. As an On-Premise Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the on-premise IT infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, performance, and scalability. You will work closely with other IT professionals and stakeholders to support the organisation's technology needs and objectives. Role: Infrastructure Design and Implementation: Design, deploy, and manage on-premise infrastructure solutions, ensuring alignment with business requirements and IT strategy. Configure and manage Hyper-V environments, including the creation and management of virtual machines, storage, and networking. System Maintenance and Support: Perform regular maintenance and updates to hardware and software components to ensure optimal performance and security. Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues, providing timely support to minimise downtime and impact on business operations. Monitoring and Optimisation: Implement and manage monitoring tools to proactively identify and address potential issues within the infrastructure. Optimize system performance and resource utilization, making recommendations for improvements where necessary. Profile Proven experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on on-premise environments. Extensive experience with Hyper-V, including setup, configuration, and management of virtualized environments. Proficient in Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other core infrastructure technologies. Strong understanding of networking concepts, including LAN/WAN, firewalls, and VPNs. Experience with monitoring and management tools (e.g., System Center, Nagios, SolarWinds). Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security measures within an infrastructure environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. The Infrastructure Engineer will ideally have certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, or similar. Experience with other virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware) is a plus. Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS) and hybrid infrastructure environments.
