Job Opportunity: Tax Senior Our client, a leading firm, is seeking a recently qualified Tax Senior to join their thriving Business Tax team. This crucial role can be based in either the St. Albans or London office. Role Overview: As a Tax Senior, you will manage and oversee a portfolio of corporation tax clients, ensuring their compliance cycle is efficiently handled. You will work with senior team members on advisory projects as needed, gaining invaluable experience and expertise. This is a pivotal position within the Business and Corporate Tax Team, with responsibilities including: Managing a portfolio of business tax compliance functions. Preparing and reviewing UK corporation tax computations. Monitoring reporting and payment deadlines. Collaborating with audit and accounts teams on tax accounting entries and disclosures. Training and mentoring junior colleagues within the Business Tax Team. Providing corporation tax compliance proposals and quotes to prospective clients. Coordinating and reviewing other business tax-related returns (e.g., ATED, ERS, EMI, P11Ds). Monitoring and managing financial performance in line with KPIs. Handling correspondence with clients and HMRC. Identifying opportunities for tax planning, risk mitigation, and cross-selling services. Assisting with ad hoc projects and duties as required. Adhering to the firm's technical, ethical, risk, and compliance procedures. Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will be a recently qualified or established Tax Senior with aspirations to progress to Assistant Manager and beyond. You should possess: Corporate tax technical and practical knowledge. Good understanding of tax issues affecting owner-managed businesses (OMBs) and their shareholders. Knowledge of UK accounting standards and competence in interpreting accounts and financial information. Strong IT skills, including MS Office and databases (Alphatax knowledge is a plus but not essential). Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to manage relationships effectively and contribute to team working. Capability to mentor, manage, and appraise junior team members.
