We have four Street Lighting PFI's and work for most local authorities in the areas we operate in. We operate as an ICP and carry out jointing associated with the installation and connection of electrical networks for most of the housing developers in the UK. We have agreements to work on the DNO and IDNO networks in the UK and we are now looking at expanding and growing our Independent Connections Provider business. We are looking for a Jointers Mate responsible for the installation and wiring of street lighting and highway electrical street furniture. Acting as a Jointers Mate in service cable transfers and service cable mains connections to DNO/IDNO networks. Excavation and reinstatement in multiple surface types to current NRSWA standards. At all times you will ensure the safe use and operation of tools, equipment and vehicles associated with the role up to and including LGV (Cat C) and vehicle mounted lorry loader cranes. It is a requirement to attend call outs as required which may require participating in a 24 hour standby rota for emergency attendance. Main Responsibilities Holding a relevant authorisation to work on distribution networks. To have an awareness of the working environment and surroundings and an understanding of the ability to carry out health, safety and environmental risk assessments. Working in a safe manner and in accordance with the Company's Health, Safety, Environment and Quality policies and procedures. Complying with operational working practices, method statements and associated risk assessments. Taking full ownership for personal health and safety responsibilities and those working around you or affected by your operations. Ensuring correct selection and use of company provided PPE and equipment as required by the relevant risk assessment and method statements relating to each work activity. What we need from you Relevant authorisation to act as jointers mate for service connections to DNO/IDNO networks. An appropriate NVQ (e.g. C&G 6156) or equivalent qualification in highway excavation and reinstatement. A current NRSWA qualification (Units 1-9 preferred). An appropriate G39 qualification. A current full driving licence to drive vehicles up to and including LGV Cat C. A current and relevant First Aid and Manual Handling certificate. A high degree of manual dexterity and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. A good understanding of the Highways Lighting business. A good working knowledge of company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures. The ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team. The ability to take a professional, courteous, confident and diplomatic approach to customers at all times. Desirable Electrical qualification C & G 236 Parts 1 / 2330 Level 2. The Role Negotiating / Property Management Duties: To work with the lettings team to achieve move in targets, dealing with legal documentation ensuring that all tenancies are compliant and helping to build the brand in the local marketplace. Pre-qualifying applicants and arranging viewings Carrying out viewings and obtaining feedback Supporting the lettings team with administrative duties, issuing terms of business to landlords, carrying out any checks to comply with legislation. Processing tenant references and right to rent checks Preparing tenancy agreements, issuing legal documents relating to the tenancy and ensuring that all safety certificates are in place prior to move in. Working within the property management area ensuring that properties have been prepared for move in. Booking and arranging inventories Ensuring a smooth hand over of keys and that tenants have a positive experience during the application process.
