The Role In this role you will be working in a class with primary age pupils, all who have complex needs and ASD. Pupils in the class can display challenging behavior and can sometimes require support to calm situations. 1:1 support is also part of the role. You will be working with every child in the class at different points in the week. There are some pupils that will also require personal care, support with eating and daily tasks as well as support in lessons. The Role In this role you will be a full-time teacher within a small classes of children with Autism, learning disabilities and sensory needs in KS2. There are 10 pupil in the class of varying primary ages all working at a similar level and are considered formal learners in the school so follow a more standard curriculum. You will work alongside experienced SEND teachers and leaders in curriculum planning and preparation. There are a number of dedicated and experienced support staff based in the class to support the pupils across various learning and development activities. You will be teaching a broad curriculum based on supporting students to make academic, social and emotional progress through a range of class-based and enrichment learning activities.
