An excellent opportunity has become available for a Florist/Cut Flower Gardener has arisen on a stunning estate located in West Oxfordshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for the productions of cut flowers throughout the seasons, alongside the creation of regular floral displays for both the main house and adjoined hotel. The grade I listed property is positioned within a stunning 20-acre estate, of which the main garden and large walled kitchen garden cover approximately 6 acres. The rest of the estate is comprised of woodland and expansive grass areas. The garden surrounding the house consists of herbaceous borders, shrub borders, orchard, distinctive planting surrounding the swimming pool, lawns, a variety of young and mature trees, two large greenhouses which are used for growing purposes. In addition to the main estate, there is also a hotel in close proximity which the gardening team maintain on a rotational basis, which entails predominately pot and border maintenance. The current Head Gardener is in the process of rejuvenating the garden and increasing the horticultural standard. The ideal candidate will have clear enthusiasm both floristry and the production of cut flowers, having demonstrable professional experience within a cut flower or floristry setting. He / She will report to the Head Gardener and He / She should be organised, able to plan and prioritise workload to ensure there is a steady flow of cut flower production for year round floral displays. The successful candidate will ideally have an accredited horticultural qualification, while having previous experience in the production cut flowers and the creation of floral displays throughout the seasons. Alongside this, the successful candidate will also assist throughout the wider estate with finer horticultural tasks such as pruning, herbaceous border maintenance, bed maintenance and the implementation of planting schemes. The successful candidate will report to the Head Gardener, while working closely with the wider team small team present at the estate.
