There are several major, large-scale programmes of work ongoing that is allowing the team to grow exponentially within a stable engineering community, where keeping work-life enjoyable is key. Java and SpringBoot are a part of the core business services alongside tools like OpenAPI but no specific Java experience is needed, just a passion for building clean, maintainable and secure applications using any object-oriented language. On a modern cloud platform, they work with a range of industry-leading technologies such as serverless, Docker, and Kubernetes. You will have opportunities to work on both the front and back-end services. On the front-end, you will develop applications and reusable components using a combination of Ruby on Rails and React plus build external and internal UIs, a great opportunity to deliver far reaching, intuitive and accessible front-end systems. Responsibilities of the Software Engineer include: Developing Software in an agile team environment Working within a technical framework to meet customer requirements Collaborating with cross-functional teams to prepare and review tasks and user stories Opportunity to mentor more junior developers Providing application support Essential Skills as a Software Engineer: Experience as a Software Engineer or a Developer (front-end/back-end/full-stack) across multiple projects, preferably on the large-scale using a variety of modern technology and tools An in-depth understanding of any programming languages such as Java, Ruby, C#, HTML, Python or similar. A passion for back-end, front-end development, security or serverless technology.
