My client is a Leading National Civil Engineering Company. They are presently looking to appoint, on a long term contract basis, a Sub Agents and Site Agents to work initially on a large highways project in the Barnstaple area of Devon This self-delivery project is valued at circa £60m and comprises bulk earthworks, highway construction, drainage, utilities, S278 works etc. Due to the nature of the project there will be ample opportunity for day, nights and weekend work. Key Responsibilities Management of site staff operatives and sub-contractors. Preparing and monitoring programmes of work Provide method statements, hazard risk assessments and project management plans. Understand tender allowances and monitor contract costs against agreed budgets. Manage design co-ordination. Assessment and engagement of sub-contractors. Understand and administer contract change. Inform, consult, and involve local groups as necessary. Foster good relations and reputation with clients. Promote and ensure all work complies with safety, quality and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedures. Already experienced as a Sub Agent or a Site Agent you will have a relevant industry qualification (HND/ HNC/ BEng) or equivalent, an up-to-date SMSTS qualification, and appropriate CSCS card. A First Aid at Work qualification is desirable. You will also have experience of managing civil engineering projects with a main contractor including Highways works, Earthworks and Structures. Experienced in people management and motivation of staff. A good organiser, both of self and others with the ability to think in advance. Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK. Due to the nature of the role a full UK driving license is essential and the successful candidate will be happy to travel throughout our Southern Region. A First Aid at Work qualification would also be desirable. Assess site layouts and blueprints meticulously to plan and execute efficient installation procedures. Conduct thorough system tests, troubleshoot any problems, and offer clients guidance on system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting protocols. Install central vacuum units, ductwork, and associated components in compliance with exact specifications and safety standards. Work closely with project managers, contractors, and team members to coordinate installation tasks, ensuring project deadlines are achieved.
