Full Time - Permanent - Day shift Friends of the Elderly (FotE) is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to providing excellent care with a family feel, we have been supporting older people for over 100 years. The charity provides care home and day care services for older people, as well as grants for older people in financial difficulty. With a person-focused approach to care, Davenham, Bradbury Court and Perrins House are picturesque homes situated in beautiful grounds in Malvern. Specialising in care for people with dementia, as well as residential and nursing care, we have a dedicated, well-trained and compassionate team of staff that care for our residents. Joining our dedicated team as a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for delivering person-centred care, unique to each individual, supporting and enabling our residents to maintain key skills, personal interests, independence, choice, and dignity, so that they can lead fulfilled lives. You will make sure our residents are safe and comfortable. You will act as a champion for their safety and dignity. You will lead the team in providing quality, individualised care for our residents in line with procedures and policies. You will make sure that clear, accurate records are kept. You will follow our procedures for ordering, administering and dispensing medication. You will conduct supervisions and appraisals with the staff and promote their development. You will maintain a safe, clean workplace and follow infection control protocols. To ensure we can achieve this, our shift patterns include evenings, weekends, and some unsociable hours. To succeed in this role, you will need great communication and interpersonal skills, so that you can form great relationships with your residents and effectively handover information to colleagues. Number and digital skills are also required along with the ability to problem solve and adapt to situations, and to recognise and report situations where there might be a need for safeguarding. Working as a Shift Leader means no two days are the same. You will have at least 2 years' experience in a care setting, ideally with an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or working towards it. With a compassionate nature and a positive can-do attitude, you will be able to supervise your peers and take the initiative. Job description: As the Nightshift Shift Manager you will be reporting to the Factory Manager, and have responsibility for leading a shift-based operations team delivering against a range of safety, cost and quality KPIs. You will also participate in the creation and delivery of operational strategy and will be responsible for successfully managing the delivery of site operations improvement plans. Some key focus areas include: Continuously improve quality system to eradicate repeat failures. Continually develop our operations system to maximize performance. Lead the operations team to continuously improve plant output and delivery of customer service plans. Delivery of financial budget aligned with the delivery of KPI's in line with assigned business unit objectives (waste, TOS, efficiency, machine uptime). Work in partnership with site functions, engineering to deliver daily, weekly, monthly, and annual targets. Support the creation of a positive working culture through clear and consistent leadership. Support and develop your team - recognize and reward performance through regular performance reviews. Motivate and coach your shift team in effective decision making, promoting autonomy/accountability, and promoting ownership to enhance engagement at all levels. How to be successful in the role and at FBC Previous experience working as a leader or manager within a Shift Operations function within in FMCG, with an understanding of manufacturing excellence. Desirable IOSH, with a strong, demonstrable appreciation of H&S Ideally you will have a Food Safety / Hygiene Qualification, but this is not essential as happy to consider candidates from outside of the food / drink sector with the relevant manufacturing management experience. Ideally candidates will have a manufacturing excellence qualification / or be Lean Sigma Green Belt certified, etc., and will possess a strong willingness to develop their knowledge and experience in this aspect.
