Contract: Permanent Salary: £28,017pa Shifts: Full time The Role: Driving Production, Quality, Continuous Improvement and Safety achievement for the production process by managing the activity of Lead Operatives, Production Operatives and other resources and information. The Production Team Leader will have full responsibility and accountability for all aspects of the production process. Key Responsibilities: Supporting the Production Shift Manager by effectively managing all resources and processes to meet the day-to-day requirements of a busy manufacturing operation: Work in accordance with all health and safety requirements Ensure handling of materials and product is in accordance with required quality standards Ensure that all production workstations are correctly equipped to run the scheduled finished goods, including completion of all required documentation Allocate Production Operatives to tasks in accordance with production requirements that they are fully trained to conduct Ensure all Operatives are aware of required production targets and regularly monitor performance against targets Utilise resources to resolve all issues encountered within the production area and escalate to the Production shift manager if unable to resolve Ensuring effective line clearance and set-up of all workstations Full responsibility for housekeeping of area Verifying completion of all required records and documentation for the process to a high standard Work with a view of continuously improving all aspects of your area. This would include resources, equipment, line flow, efficiencies etc. Manage the safe wearing and compliance of all PPE requirements within your area Liaise with the training officer to identify training requirements in line with competencies and ensure all relevant training is up to date and completed in a timely manner, including all relevant documentation Liaise with HR to manage HR requirements within your area including the absence process, holiday approvals, use of Mitrefinch and conduct/performance issues Responsible for all resources and equipment to meet the weekly plan Be a responsible Senior person on site outside dayshift hours in the absence of the Production Shift Manager Candidate Requirements: Qualifications and training: Essential: General secondary or vocational qualifications (e.g. GCSEs..), inc English and Maths Competent in use of computer systems/programs Desirable: Team Management/Supervision, e.g. ILM Experience: Essential: Significant experience in coordinating people/leading teams in a manufacturing environment Experience in managing employee relations Desirable: Experience of working in an electronic assembly operation Knowledgeable of Continuous Improvement Techniques Use of Microsoft packages Use Of MRP systems. Your new role In this pivotal role, you'll be the driving force behind delivering exceptional service to our valued customers. Collaborating closely with the Team Leader, you will play a key role in supporting a team of Warehouse Operatives, ensuring seamless operations and exceeding Service Level Agreements. Achieve and surpass service level agreements and quality standards, with a special focus on optimising the goods in section. Support the Team Leader in delivering efficient stock management preparation, covering good receipts, stock counting, stock consolidation, Consumable Counts, Day to Day Stock Movements, and ad-hoc stock queries. Ensure accuracy of inventory locations, including storage bin set up, allocation and barcoding. When stepping into the Team Leader's shoes, they ensure smooth communication flow for all team members without delay. Provide valuable feedback to the Team Leader on any issues or suggestions that may impact service delivery or quality standards. Ensure that team members adhere to established processes and practices in all assigned activities. Act as a proactive referral point for team members, swiftly addressing any concerns to maintain a positive work environment. What you'll need to succeed Strong organisational and time management skills. Thrives under pressure with a positive attitude. Proficient in MS Office, advanced level Excel (e.g. pivot tables and VLOOKUP's). Demonstrable goods-in experience. Health and safety awareness. Excellent verbal and written/electronic communication skills. Working knowledge of health and safety Valid forklift licence (must be willing to undertake course). What you'll get in return This position will initially offer a salary of between £25,500 and £26,500 starting with 29 days and this will increase to 32 days with length of service. This is a Monday to Friday position, and the hours are 2080 annualised hours, working a shift pattern from Monday to Friday, 7am to 8pm, ( DTL) shifts rotate between 6, 8 and 12 hours in the month. So the 12-hour shifts being towards the end/beginning of the month, a rota is created at least 3 weeks in advance, so a shift pattern is known.
