A service engineer is required for a hugely established OEM of industrial automation and machine tools. This globally recognised leader of specialist capital equipment, is seeking an electrically biased Service engineer to join their team. You'll will be required to travel nationwide to install, commission and repair machinery. They have a strong network of service engineers across the UK, the business are able to provide the very best service to all of their customers. Benefits include a basic salary of circa £40K depending on experience, OTE of £60K paid door to door, overtime paid at Time & after 37 hours during the week and Saturday, Double Time Sunday, choice of either, van, car or car allowance, overnight allowance when working away including meals, 33 days holiday including bank holidays, a generous pension scheme, yearly bonuses, private healthcare, and life assurance Responsibilities for the Service Engineer include - Nationwide travel to carry out installation & commissioning of special purpose machinery Carry out breakdown maintenance repairs both electrically and mechanically Routine service and inspection visits Fault find on Siemens PLC's to test inputs and outputs, trace back faults and determine the cause of the issue Providing end user support to customers as well as training and equipment demonstrations Nationwide travel including overnight stays during installation projects There is a robust training package which is largely based around job shadowing other engineers to learn the products, how they're built, but there will also be some occasional overseas travel to work on projects in Europe as they occur during the year. To be successful in this position, we're looking for the following previous experience and skills - Previously a field service Engineer of capital equipment or heavy industry machinery - Hold a HNC or HNC electrical or electronic engineering - Have a solid understanding of PLC's and how to fault find - A strong knowledge of power supplies, controls and electrical test equipment is essential - Flexibility to travel nationwide, with occasional overnight stays - Clean drivers license - UK passport for overseas travel when necessary ASC Connections Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions. About the role We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to lead a successful and established Service team, responsible for supporting the Service requirements of our End Users and maintaining compliance requirements within the estate. This team plays a key role in supporting our transition to a modern workplace, by providing Service support to end users as we implement new and exciting technologies. As a team we work collaboratively with other technical teams to achieve shared Service objectives and you'll contribute to the alignment of ways of working within practices across IT Service. We provide a high level of knowledge to the Service team to aid the troubleshooting of and resolution to complex end user incidents, ensuring services are maintained with our SLA's. The responsibilities of this role will include being the lead contact for all Service-related queries Managing both Request and Incident queues within SLA's and delegating work amongst your team Representing the End User Service team at all IT Service meetings Organising and hosting meetings for the End User Service team to support orchestration Supporting processes improvements within IT Service We'll require you to be available for out-of-hours support, on a rota basis.
