Are you a SQL focused Database Engineer looking to join a hugely successful infrastructure team within one of our flagship UK accounts? As a SQL Database Engineer, you would be covering a large enterprise database estate of over 200 instances, working in modern agile ways, tackling BAU and projects head on as a collective, whilst maintaining a relaxed and fun environment to work in. Automation and AI will be at the heart of all your work, as you look to automate tasks within the production environments bringing better ways of working and improving delivery speed of manual tasks. What you'll be doing: Implement SQL Database environments and support resolution of issues/requests Attend Automation workshops and engage around Database technology Help create Ansible Tower playbooks for Automation Maintain database backups for use in the event of system failure Capacity plan, advise and implement additional database storage and ensuring database designs provide for Disaster Recovery Planning Install and configure the database environment and software, and ensure environments are kept secure and up-to-date with regular patching/upgrades What you'll bring: Experience in monitoring, supporting and troubleshooting daily operations in an Microsoft SQL Server DBA environment and solid knowledge of database security principles Good experience with Microsoft Server Operating Systems (2012 and upwards) Knowledge of server scripting e.g. Unix Shell Scripting, Windows Powershell or batch files Demonstrated experience in database administration, including backups, maintenance, performance monitoring, patching and troubleshooting. Proficiency in SQL development and scripting tools, with a strong understanding of Microsoft SQL Server Stack (SSMS, SSAS, SSIS & SSRS). Senior Oracle Database Administrator / DBA St Albans / WFH to £130k Do you have expertise with Oracle databases? You could be progressing your career in a senior hands-on role at a technology driven trading company that invests in sports betting markets, where you can make a real impact. As a Senior Oracle Database Administrator / DBA you'll collaborate with one other, taking ownership and leading initiatives for database functionality. You'll create short and long term plans, managing projects to ensure continual improvement as well as carrying out day-to-day DBA activities. Responsibilities will encompass Performance Tuning to ensure the performance and availability of the database, carrying out database patches, evaluating upgrades to the latest versions of Oracle, performing security and compliance testing, database hardening and assisting with audits.
