Support and Research Infrastructure Analyst Edinburgh Full-Time (37 hours) Permanent £34,498 - £39,922 per annum Reference: CFPS/IDS/039/24 Closing date for applications: 24 May 2024 About The Team: SRUC is unique in Scotland and one of the largest organisations of its kind in Europe. The IDS infrastructure team provides a national network and server infrastructure across SRUC locations in Scotland and Northern England built on a Zero Trust Architecture. The team deploys and manages a suit of Microsoft and Linux servers physical and virtual machines on premise, and has an active programme to deployment cloud based services. This offers opportunity for a broad range of experience for the right candidate. The Opportunity: The postholder will be the institution's subject matter expert in, and have responsibility for, Linux and centralised research system services and their related technologies throughout the organisation. As a specialist, the postholder will play a critical role in the design, deployment, monitoring, and management of business, and research, critical systems. The postholder has significant input in infrastructure design, planning, and implementation of current and future services - ensuring systems are designed and deployed to meet SRUC infrastructure and cybersecurity standards, that these systems functions are monitored, maintained, patched, and managed to ensure the security and reliability of SRUC's core and research technologies. The role works under the direction of senior IDS managers and working collaboratively with IDS Infrastructure Analysts, IDS Support Analysts, IDS Application Developers, and colleagues working within Research. Minimum Qualifications: The ideal candidate should be educated to SCQF Level 8 or above in Computer Science/ Information technology or related area.
