An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing organisation, working alongside the UK FD and as part of the Finance Leadership Team to operate a high-quality finance function. The role offers a balance of financial reporting and technical oversight, commercial ownership of a large cost base of central services (including senior stakeholder management) and management of the finance team delivering transactional support for the business. The role would be well suited to a commercially minded financial controller, looking for a broad range of responsibility. Ability to drive change and process improvement is essential. The successful candidate will manage a team across 2 sites, Leicester and Lewes. 2 days will be spent in the Leicester office and the remainder remote. Key Duties & Responsibilities Oversight of all financial reporting both internal and external Management of the tax affairs of the UK business including HMRC relationship Ownership of the external audit relationship Commercial support and business partner for central services, managing a c.£30m cost base with senior stakeholder management a priority Drive ownership and accountability within central services and aid commercial decision making Managing the team to deliver transactional support services to the business including Payroll, AP and Employee Expenses. Strong leadership of the team to motivate, develop and support individuals performance and progression Lead change management programmes to develop back-office services and investment in technology to drive improvements Be an active part of the Finance Leadership Team, working alongside the UK FD and Divisional FDs to deliver on the overall priorities of the finance function Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years PQE Strong understanding of technical accounting and statutory requirements (Co's House, HMRC etc) Experience of leading a finance team Process improvement and change management experience Good understanding of internal control environments and preferably SOX experience. Individual competencies Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Highly numerate with strong analytical skills Ability to get into the detail when required but also see the big picture Strong people management and team motivation Ability to present and explain complex business issues clearly to stakeholders Ability to perform comfortably in a fast paced, deadline orientated work environment Pro-active style with an ability and desire to drive change.
