Cedar are supporting a Public Sector client who are looking to hire a Senior Category Manager. This is a permanent job opportunity with a salary of £50,000 per annum on offer plus a range of benefits which include; 28 Days Annual Leave (plus Bank Holidays), CIPS Funding (on completion of your probation period) and an Employer Pension Contribution of 26%. The role offers flexible hybrid working, with the requirement to be on-site 1 day per week in the office based in either Swindon or Newport (whichever is closest to you). Reporting in to the Head of Category & Continuous Improvement, the successful candidate will be responsible for; Developing appropriate category strategies which include end to end procurement sourcing strategies for the category. Ensuring category strategies adhere to Government regulations regarding the advertising and publishing of opportunities. Provide Client Relationship Management services to ensure buy in to category strategies and successful on-boarding of new customers Design, develop and implement effective CM and SRM programme for the category. Support roll out of Continuous Improvement initiatives across the function. Candidates applying MUST HAVE: Experience working in a similar role in the UK Public Sector is required (i.e. a role in Procurement, Commercial, Category Management) Strong understanding of Public Sector Procurement Regulations Experience and understanding of Category Management development/strategies Strong communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills
Job Title: Senior Category Manager Location: West London Hybrid: 2-3 days in the office ( 6 Months FTC - Perfect Store & Category Vision ) Role Overview: The Senior Category Manager will play a pivotal role in building trusted category partnerships with key contacts at Morrisons, driving category growth and the brand share growth. The role involves a balance of internal and external responsibilities, including developing inspiring category solutions, managing key internal category processes, and supporting the evolution of category vision and demand spaces. Key Responsibilities: Build strong partnerships with Morrisons, providing insights to drive category growth. Support internal processes and annual cycles with analysis and recommendations. Support the enhancement of Perfect Store tools for effective planning and tracking. Update Category Vision and tailor Demand Spaces for customer growth plans. Lead range reviews and planogram maintenance, utilising data for insights. Develop monthly scorecards for performance and opportunity insights. Develop and track Physical Availability ahead of Account Planning. Assist Line Manager in evolving Category Vision and shopper insight understanding. About You: Proven experience in category management within the FMCG industry. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights. Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong partnerships. Proficiency in category management tools and systems.
