ABOUT THE ROLE As a Senior Care Assistant at a Barchester care home, you'll look after the different needs of our residents to enable us to deliver quality, person-centred care and support. Senior Residential Childcare Officer - Newcastle upon Tyne. An exciting position has become available for a full-time Senior Residential Child Care Officer. Must be a driver. Salary Range for the successful candidate will be: £29,280 - 30,320 (depending on experience and qualifications) There is a requirement to cover sleep-ins with an allowance paid per sleep. Role Requirements You will have a minimum of 2 years' experience of working with children and young people within residential childcare or a similar role. Must be qualified to level 3 Diploma for children and young people or equivalent. The position requires an experienced, qualified, committed, energetic and enthusiastic individual. Role Responsibilities To join a team and take a lead responsibility in key areas designated by the Registered Manager and practice a mentoring role in relation to support staff and those new to the team, The aim being to ensure the highest standards pf physical, social and emotional care is offered for the individual development of the children/young people, exceeding the guidelines and standards expected by Ofsted. Assist the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in the planning and organisation of the work undertaken by the staff at the residential establishment. Ensure records and reports are kept regarding children/young people and that these reports are relevant and up to date. Participate in the regular formal supervision sessions of Residential childcare officers in line with company policy and procedure and through this process help to identify training needs for the staff team and individuals. To be available on an on-call basis to offer advice and to cover staff at shortfalls and/or operational emergencies. You will work with the team to promote and support the children and young people in our care in leading a life of positive development by providing a safe and nurturing environment. To contribute as that of a professional parent and to take a child centred approach to enable each child/young person to grow and develop healthily, promoting and maximising their educational opportunities and/or other achievements.
