Atkinson Moss Engineering have been engaged to assist our industry leading client with the appointment of Senior Test Engineer to join their growing Engineering team. Location: Norwich Onsite working (Monday to Friday 08.30-17.00) The Senior Test Engineer is a key member of the Test and Simulation team, responsible for dynamometer verification testing of electric drive systems. Responsibilities: Oversee test facilities and schedules. Plan and manage tests, verification, validation, and competitor benchmarking. Design and commission test rigs and fixtures. Communicate issues to upper management clearly and promptly. Maintain a safe and orderly testing environment. Design test system architecture and implement NI LabVIEW code for verification tasks. Produce and analyse technical reports on product performance. Supervise and mentor test engineers. Perform root cause analysis on test failures and equipment issues. Act as a technical resource for resolving test issues across departments. Recommend improvements for testing methods. Ensure test equipment is maintained and calibrated. Support various teams in verification and validation tasks, including pre-compliance testing. Assist product design teams with test development, data analysis, and feedback on testing requirements. Qualifications/Experience: BEng/BSc in Electronics, Embedded Systems, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering. Experience in engineering development, preferably in sectors involving electro-mechanical machine testing (e.g., Automotive). Proficient in writing technical reports for verification and validation. Strong understanding of electronics principles and measurement methodologies. Knowledge of signal measurement best practices and data acquisition. Familiarity with PXI Data Acquisition chassis and NI LabVIEW programming. Experience with mathematical processing software like MATLAB. Understanding of Nyquist sampling rate, bandwidth, and frequency response. Experience in DSP and fast-Fourier transform analysis. Working within state-of-the-art testing facilities with one of the most reputable Automotive testing and development companies in the UK you will have the opportunity to work on some interesting projects for customers focusing on Fuel and Lubes alternatives for products of the future.
