Are you a kind-hearted individual with the patience and creativity to be a successful SEN Teaching Assistant?
Working within SEN is incredibly rewarding but requires out of the box thinkers who are able to see beyond the labels of disability and uncover each child's potential and love for learning.
Within Schools, you will work with four broad categories of need: Communication and interaction, Cognition and learning, Social, emotional and mental health difficulties and Sensory and/or physical needs.
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work closely with a Year 7 boy with Autism.
About the school
Academics are working with a specialized SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) school located in Sutton.
They are committed to providing exceptional support and education to students with a range of needs, ensuring that every child receives the tailored assistance they require to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
A Special school (SEN) which caters for pupils with a range of needs, including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Autism (ASD) and behavioural difficulties (EBD) is looking for Teaching Assistants to start ASAP for long-term roles and daily supply.
Also, being able to work with challenging behaviour would be beneficial.
There is a high proportion of autistic children attending the school so a good knowledge and understanding of autism is essential for the role.
This is a mixed ability class, and some pupils are diagnosed with SEN.
The role will include working with a non-verbal child.
General
We will also welcome applications from Graduates looking to progress in Education with limited classroom-based experience, or those with Nannying experience.
