Due to increased workload, an opportunity for an engineer to join the team has arisen The main purpose of this role will be to install & service, fire alarms, access control, CCTV systems and intruder alarms both in educational institutes and commercial/industrial scale. Your main duties will include: installing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems such as Advanced, Hochiki, Apollo and Kentec to name a few installing, maintaining, and repairing access control & intercom systems such as Paxton & Videx installing, maintaining, and repairing automatic gates, we mostly work with Roger Technology & Came. There could also be some work on CCTV & intruder alarm systems such as UNV. You will be expected to attend both call outs & planned maintenance appointments and complete any paperwork required. Experience within the fire and security industry is essential. A DBS check will be carried out as part of the role. Job Title: College Security Manager Location: West Yorkshire Contract: Duration - 3-6 months Salary: Negotiable based on experience Urgent fill We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Security Manager to join a College Estates Department in West Yorkshire. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our college campus, with a focus on implementing preventative measures and adhering to relevant legislation such as KCSIE (Keeping Children Safe in Education). Key Responsibilities: Reviewing all existing security systems and processes within the team. Conducting a comprehensive skills audit and developing individualized training plans for team members. Providing training sessions on effective building safety management and customer service. Establishing strong working relationships with internal pastoral support teams in Student Services to facilitate the sharing of effective intelligence. Liaising with local law enforcement agencies regarding external boundary issues, incidents, and challenges. Remaining fully informed and compliant with Keeping Children Safe in Education legislation, as well as upcoming requirements such as Run Hide Tell and Martyn's Law. Requirements: Previous experience and knowledge of security management within a college or large public sector building, particularly in a city centre environment. Familiarity with KCSIE regulations and their application within an educational setting. Proven ability to assess security risks and implement appropriate preventative measures. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver effective training sessions and establish collaborative relationships. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to conduct thorough audits and develop tailored training plans. Flexibility to adapt to changing security needs and respond to urgent situations as they arise.
