Security Engineer (Alarm & Security Systems) Location: Cardiff, South Glamorgan Salary: Basic £14.5 - £16.5 per hour, OTE £19.4 - £22 per hour Working Hours: 40 per week The Client: Our client is a well-established engineering firm, providing a range of solutions such as fire detection and alarms, gates and barriers, and electronic security. The Role: As a Security Engineer, you will work on a 5 year upgrade project for a blue chip client, providing effective installation and commissioning of various security systems such as: Intruder Alarm Systems Access Control CCTV IP & Analogue Intercom Remote Signalling Systems such as Dualcom The right candidate will receive training to cover any areas where experience may be lacking. Requirements: Previously worked as a Security Engineer or in a similar role. Proven technical background in security systems. Understanding of Intruder Alarm systems, CCTV and Access Control Systems and Remote Signalling systems such as Dualcom. Knowledge of British Standards for security systems (PD662, BS8243, BSEN50132). Understanding of DVRs and their capabilities. Able to be security checked in accordance with BS7858:2019. Capable to work at height and in confined spaces. Manual handling skills. Experience with Lenel Access Control would be desirable. Knowledge of the 18th edition of IEE wiring regulations would be beneficial. Valid UK driving License. Travel nationally and stay overnight when necessary.
