Job Title: Fire and Security Engineer Location: Various - Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey and London Job Type: Full-time Salary: Dependent on experience £35,000 to £45,000 We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fire and Security Engineer to join our dynamic business. This role involves working on client sites for the installation, servicing, and maintenance of fire and security systems. The ideal candidate will be a technical all-rounder with a depth of experience to go with their qualifications in this field. Therefore, they will possess a strong technical background that, combined with excellent problem-solving skills, means they can operate efficiently, moving between differing client needs, in a fast-paced business environment. Key Responsibilities: Install, service, and maintain a wide range of fire and security systems, including fire alarms, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarms. Conduct regular testing and inspection of systems to ensure functionality and compliance with safety standards. Diagnose and repair faults in fire and security systems. Provide technical support and advice to clients. Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with industry regulations. Maintain accurate records of all work carried out. Participate in an on-call Rota for emergency callouts. Essential Criteria: Relevant technical qualifications in fire and security systems or electrical engineering. Experience with a wide range of fire and security system brands and models. Proven experience in the installation, servicing, and maintenance of fire and security systems. Strong understanding of current industry standards and regulations. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Full driving license and willingness to travel to various client sites. Good communication skills and professionalism in dealing with clients. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to participate in out-of-hours emergency callouts. Prior experience working on the front line directly with customers. Desirable Criteria: Membership in relevant professional bodies (e.g., FIA, ECS). Additional certifications or training in fire and security systems. Familiarity with network systems and IP-based security solutions. Role model for junior engineers and apprentices. In full: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our team and play a key role in setting up servers, headends, switches etc. As an integral part of our physical security infrastructure team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth installation and configuration of infrastructure and hardware components critical to our operations. Responsibilities: Install and configure servers, headends, switches, racks etc in the environment, adhering to best practices and security standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network infrastructure solutions tailored to the ENVIRONMENT's requirements for physical security. Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting to ensure the reliability and performance of installed infrastructure components. Coordinate with vendors and third-party providers to procure necessary hardware and equipment for the ENVIRONMENT setup. Document all installation procedures, configurations, and network diagrams to facilitate ongoing maintenance and future expansions of the physical security infrastructure. Provide technical guidance and support to ENVIRONMENT personnel regarding hardware setup, connectivity, and network operations related to physical security systems. Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard the integrity and confidentiality of ENVIRONMENT infrastructure and data pertaining to physical security. Stay updated with the latest technologies and industry trends in physical security infrastructure to continuously improve ENVIRONMENT capabilities. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Multiple examples of experience in network design, implementation, and infrastructure setup, preferably in a physical security environment. Expertise in installing and configuring servers, switches, and racks, with a strong understanding of network protocols and security principles relevant to physical security systems. Proficiency in creating high-level and low-level design documents, as well as implementation plans using tools like Visio. Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex network issues related to physical security systems. Certifications such as CCNP, CCDP, CCNA, and relevant physical security certifications are highly desirable. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving physical security threats and requirements.
