Health & Safety Lead - Maidenhead - Market Leading Company We are currently recruiting for a market leading business in one of the biggest growth sectors across the UK. We are currently supporting our client who are a market leading business who have major clients across a range of sectors including utilities, construction and civil engineering who are seeking a Health & Safety Lead. This is working for a company who have gone through a lot of growth over the last 5 years, turnover around £100 million and looking for someone to help maintain and maintain this growth. Role: Producing and maintaining the quality of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) Assisting in the development and monitoring of the company health and safety policies and procedures Assisting in the design and implementation of a company H&S training framework for all job roles and assist with the planning of all group training requirements Within your area of control ensure the company environmental policy is adhered to Designing and implementing planned and ad hoc site inspections and audits. To act as the first point of contact for any safety or environmental issues arising Candidate: Hold a recognised health & safety qualification such as NEBOSH construction or equivalent. Must have experience within Utilities, Civil Engineering, Surfacing or possibly construction Previous experience in a H&S position Ideally some Street works or NRSWA experience Experience of undertaking incident investigations Excellent verbal and written communication skills Able to influence and persuade individuals at all levels to adhere to company H&S rules and legislation Must have a full UK driving license Package: Basic Salary: Negotiable dependant on experience (£45,000 - £55,000) Company Vehicle Excellent Training & Development Location: Maidenhead 20 days annual leave bank holidays Pension scheme Life assurance Company events This is a great opportunity to work for a company which is rapidly growing and looking for someone to help towards shaping that growth. LIFEGUARD DUTIES 1. Follow policies and procedures outlined in the Swimming Pool file 2. Complete daily checks of water, signage, and buoyancy aids 3. Provide safety instructions to bathers at the start of each session and ensure they are adhered to 4. Direct non-lifeguarding staff in their swimming session duties 5. Monitor and conduct swimming tests on camp 6. Maintain daily and weekly written records of swim tests and buoyancy aids 7. Ensure appropriate levels of staff and Lifeguards are maintained for bather levels 8. Identify emergencies quickly and take the appropriate course of action 9. Ensure the pool is always securely locked when not in use 10. Anticipate problems and prevent accidents from occurring 11. Maintain a clean pool and ensure equipment is packed away REQUIREMENTS Have a valid NPLQ issued through RLSS, STA, or HABC and be able to provide the original certificate to evidence training 1. Complete and pass a Barracudas Lifeguard Competency Assessment (LCA - Further information of course to follow) 2. Be mentally alert, self-disciplined, physically fit and have good hearing and vision 3. Be aged 18 or over by the start date of your contract 4. Be eligible to work in the UK 5. Provide satisfactory professional/academic references - ideally 1 from a previous/current lifeguarding role (unless NPLQ has been attained through Barracudas) 6. Obtain an enhanced DBS check through Barracudas or have an existing enhanced DBS on the Update Service 7. Attend a Virtual Assessment Event if you're new to Barracudas (See Staffroom for dates) 8. Complete online training annually 9. Attend Induction Training Day (this will most likely take place within the 7-day period before your camp opens)
