School Business Manager Location: Guildford, Surrey Salary: Scale R7/43-R7/50 - Actual Salary: £36,301.48-£39,308.85 per annum (£38,844.00-£42,062.00 per annum FTE) Working Pattern: 36 hours per week, Term Time only plus 3 weeks, plus 5 INSET days. Hours: 36 hrs to be worked between 8.00am-5.00pm (30 min unpaid lunch). The School is a special school for 70 students aged 10 to 16 with social, emotional, and mental health as their primary identified need. It is situated in 42 acres of beautiful Surrey countryside in Bramley offering significant opportunities for outdoor learning. The school offers a curriculum that covers academic and practical subjects allowing all students to find their talents and strengths whilst focusing on the skills they need to build better futures. The Role To manage and develop the full range of administrative support to the Principal and Senior Leaders, ensuring continuity is maintained between staff, students, Governors, parents, carers, professionals, volunteers / visitors, and all stakeholders. Under the direction of the Academy HR and Principal, be responsible for managing HR processes in the school and liaising with the shared service HR team. To support the Principal in the strategic and operational management of the school's support services and the school's resources. To actively embrace the Trust's core principles to ensure an inclusive and positive environment for our pupils with learning difficulties and disabilities. To manage the school events and functions programme, overseeing all administrative tasks including venue and facility bookings, operational logistics for school functions and providing 'on the day' support, when required. Key Accountabilities: Line management of the school's receptionist including being responsible for appraisals/target setting/performance management, training and development. To be responsible for any correspondence, reports and other information as requested by both the Principal and the SLT. To lead the school HR administrative arrangements in line with OHC&AT policies. To oversee the marketing and events management of the school website supported by OHC&AT. Keep abreast of website updates / compliance making any necessary changes when applicable. Skills and Qualifications 3-5 A level subjects (or equivalent) Training in Microsoft Office Suite. Evidence of continued professional study. Knowledge and experience of relevant administrative systems and specialist ICT Packages (Microsoft office) Experience of working in a senior administrative role with significant aspects of HR processes Experience of working as part of a team. Experience of setting performance targets and working towards deadlines Experience of supervising/line management including agency / contract staff Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Minute taking and the preparation of reports. High level of analytical skills. Ability to present information in a logical, clear and concise format and to communicate this effectively with colleagues, both verbally and in writing. Ability to identify priorities quickly and accurately and to ensure that deadlines are met. Ability to work with autonomy within set boundaries. Ability to work under pressure. Highly effective organisation and planning skills. Knowledge of schools MIS system Enthusiasm and drive for working in a school.
