Corporate Health and Safety Manager £30 - £35 per hour Northumberland Contract We are currently on the lookout for a Corporate Health and Safety Manager to join our team in the Northumberland area. The Role: Act as the Competent Person on behalf of the Council and lead professional on all health and Safety matters, including setting the strategic direction and related objectives for Health and Safety for the Council, providing leadership to the team and positively influence and embed the Health and Safety agenda across the Council. Ensuring legal compliance with all Health and Safety related legislation and codes of practice. Ensure the provision of a proactive Health and Safety Advisory Service to the Council, ensuring effective management systems, audit and inspection mechanisms are in place to achieve Health and Safety improvements and provide compliance assurance to the Council. The post has responsibility for: Corporate Health and Safety Developing and ensuring demonstrable adherence to the Health and Safety Policy Ensuring all Council Directorates have the processes and procedures in place to deliver health and safety compliant services Ensuring third party suppliers and joint venture companies delivering on behalf of the Council deliver services that are compliant with Health and Safety legislation. The Candidate: Health and Safety Services Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Evidence of recent relevant Management Training. Significant knowledge, interpretation and practical application of health and safety legislation and regulation Substantial experience of managing health and safety in large, complex organisations Setting and delivering health and safety policies and providing an auditing and management framework to ensure demonstrable compliance. Compliance Manager 3 months on-going contract, Inside IR35 Kent About the role To support the Building Safety Manager by regularly reporting on all information relating to contract delivery on compliance-related contracts. To deliver excellent services in a friendly solution-focused way. Responsibilities Lead the administration and management of Asbestos Surveying and Asbestos Removal contracts, along with any other small compliance-related contracts. Provide regular updates and support to the Building Safety Manager on contract outcomes against the programme, including KPIs, budget, contract meetings, and general progress all within the contractual framework. Undertake procurement exercises with the Building Safety Manager, and Procurement Manager for the compliance contracts. Ensure systems are continuously updated including but not limited to the Asbestos Register, Asbestos Management Plan, Housing and Asset System, CRM, and Documents Management. This role involves raising and completing orders, organising inspections, processing payment, and carrying out other support tasks such as word processing, correspondence, specifications, and providing general support to the Building Safety Manager within the Asset Team. Attend relevant webinars, courses, and collaborative networks to ensure that legislation and regulation changes are incorporated into our Policies and procedures. Undertake any other duties to meet the requirements of the role. Requirements Proven experience in asbestos contract management is essential. Detailed knowledge of building pathology Understanding of compliance activities within social housing and ability to manage compliance contracts. Client Details Our client is a leading supply chain partner providing supply chain solutions nationally. Description As a Logistics Dangerous Goods Manager you will be based a Lutterworth, Leicestershire across 3 days per week. You will conduct the following role and responsibilities across the site: Monitoring compliance with the requirements governing the carriage of dangerous goods. This would primarily focus on CDG (Bulk) and ADR (Road), Sea (IMDG) and occasionally Air (IATA) for retail contracts. Maintain and pass the legally required 5 Yearly examinations Advising stakeholders and customers of the undertakings on the carriage of dangerous goods.. Supporting the development and implementation of site procedures and processes to ensure compliance aspect such as marking, labelling, and packaging requirements are met relevant to the mode(s) of transport of dangerous goods. Maintaining Group Dangerous Goods Compliance, including identifying gaps in guidance, policy, annual reporting, training, and regulatory changes. Supporting investigations involving dangerous goods and non-conformance and implement strategies to prevent re-occurrence. Preparing and delivering Dangerous Goods Awareness training to sites and customers operations that are involved in the transportation of dangerous goods. Supporting site management teams with the preparation and presence during DfT inspections and audits. Key emergency contact for bulk contracts and supporting with conducting investigation into public reports of non-compliance, incidents, or complaints. Manage a team of experienced colleagues for emergency response and act as the overseeing page holder for all incidents and accidents involving high consequence goods Strong knowledge of COMAH Regulations and support to 2 Lower Tier warehouse sites. Strong knowledge of DSEAR and the ability to complete risk assessments, site inspections and provide expert advice on legal and industry guidance surrounding the storage and handling of retail dangerous goods. (i.e. BAMA, HSG148, HSG71 etc.) Support site operations and the new business implementation team with storage related issues, segregation policies and any non-conformance. Monitoring and maintenance of the group compliance in line with company policies and procedures. Profile The successful Logistics Dangerous Goods Manager will report into a National DGSA Manager responsible for a national remit. You will be commutable to Lutterworth for 3 days a week and can work remotely thereafter. You will also have the following skills and experience: DGSA qualified Compliance experience within CDG (Bulk), ADR (Road), IMDG (Sea) and IATA (Air). Advisory experience with stakeholders and customers undertaking the carriage of dangerous good. Strong understand of fully regulated and exempt dangerous goods prescribed for transport (i.e. Limited Quantities, Expected Quantities, Special provisions). Experience delivering dangerous goods awareness training Knowledge of ISO 27001 is desired by not essential Knowledge of COMAH regulations and support two warehousing sites.
