Job Title: Data Governance & Strategy Manager Location: Remote (Home-Based) Contract: 6 months initially Our client is a leading provider of cutting-edge facility management solutions, delivering a broad range of services to clients worldwide. This role is a contract position paying up to £240 per day (DOE) The contract is for 6 months initially. For this role you would need to pass an Enhanced DBS check. Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance & Strategy Manager to lead the design, implementation, and management of our data governance framework and data strategy initiatives. In this role, you will work closely with key stakeholders across the business to drive the secure and efficient use of data, ensuring compliance, security, and strategic alignment with organisational objectives. As a home-based position, the ideal candidate will be self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage projects and teams remotely while ensuring alignment with the overall goals of our Data Management and Security teams. Key Responsibilities: Data Governance Framework: Develop, implement, and oversee data governance strategies and best practices to ensure data accuracy, accessibility, security, and compliance across all platforms. Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the data strategy roadmap aligned with business objectives, focusing on improving data quality, accessibility, and security across the organisation. Data Stewardship: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including legal, compliance, security, and IT teams, to ensure data is properly classified, safeguarded, and managed in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Risk & Compliance Management: Ensure that all data governance initiatives comply with relevant data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), security standards, and internal policies. Data Quality & Security: Establish and enforce standards for data quality, integrity, and protection to mitigate data-related risks and vulnerabilities in line with the company's framework. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with leadership teams, data analysts, and IT departments to ensure data governance initiatives are adopted across all levels of the business. Data Lifecycle Management: Oversee the management of data from creation through archiving, ensuring proper policies and procedures are in place for data retention and disposal. Training & Awareness: Develop training materials and resources to promote a culture of data stewardship and security across the organisation. Lead data governance training and awareness programs. Continuous Improvement: Regularly evaluate and improve the organization's data governance practices, making recommendations for optimisation, automation, and efficiency. Required Skills & Experience: Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or data strategy. Expertise in Compliance: Understanding of regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, or similar. Strategic Thinking: Proven experience in developing and implementing data governance strategies that align with business goals and regulatory requirements. Technical Skills: Familiarity with data management tools and platforms (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Data Governance Platforms like Collibra, Informatica, or similar), and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Leadership & Collaboration: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams, work remotely, and influence stakeholders across various departments. Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities, particularly in the context of data-related challenges. Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data governance concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
