Position Overview
Job Purpose: As an Assistant Supply Chain Manager, you will be instrumental in overseeing the international and domestic production and movement of products to our clients valued customers across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
We are looking for an experienced Supply Chain Planner to join the team in Jewson, Northants and Bedfordshire!
The successful candidate will utilise the Advanced Planning System (APS) to manage the process of inventory planning for several branches in line with sales demand, in order to efficiently ensure both optimal levels of stock availability and compliance with budgeted inventory costs, therefore minimising sales facing staff's involvement in inventory management and stock replenishment.
This is a full-time hybrid role, working 2 to 3 days per week out of a local Jewson branch, and the remainder of the week working remotely.
Key areas of focus will pertain to: supporting the Head of Procurement with end to end procurement activities across a wide range of spend; taking ownership for inventory management and ensuring that stock cycle counts, replenishment and all relevant goods in/goods out metrics are fulfilled; support local and global freight activities; ensure site FM contracts are managed satisfactorily; and provide reporting information across the supply chain.
