Overvie Job title: Facilities supervisor Pay: £14.20ph Temporary - permanent opportunities 32 days holiday per year bank holidays (40) Central Birmingham Monday-Thursday: 7-3, Friday:7-2:30 Are you an experienced facilities supervisor? then look no further, your role would be toprovide a front-line operational service across the university estate that is delivered by supervising a facilities team assigned to buildingsto provide an excellent customer service for a leading UK institution Responsibilities - What will you be doing Supervise a team of facilities assistants b managing and scheduling the day-to-day tasks and activities that come via the helpdesk and/or direct from customers support the assistant facilities managers with the performance of the team through University mandatory people performance and development plans aligned to HR policies Ensure that facilities staff carry out front line repairs such as toilet blockages, floods, water leaks, heating system and lighting failures in a safe and compliant manner Schedule and delegate tasks and activities to the team to ensure that key services such as setting up rooms,management of waste collections andthe distribution of deliveries Deal with all contractors that are scheduled to attend site by ensuring that the contractor management processes are followed through carrying out on site contractor inductions, seeking approval for access and signing in/out keys and passes Proactively ensure the service yards and Loading bays (where applicable) are manned, clean and tidy and that health and safety rules are adhered to by all staff and users regarding delivery and collections of goods and services Support emergencies and incidents through quick response and provide interdepartmental incident reports in a timely manner support all university events and open days (in and out of hours) by engaging with other key stakeholders in pre, during, and post set ups To support, assists and deputise for the assistant facilities managers as and when required To oversee and manage the snow and ice gritting process in adverse weather conditions across the university campus Personal requirements: Good level of education (Maths and English) Experience in a similar role Experience in a customer service focused role Relevant vocational qualifications, training or equivalent experience in manual handling Good general understanding of HS requirements IT skills (Email and Microsoft Office) Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with a broad range of people at all levels.
