The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) is a college of the University of London and the only Higher Education institution in the UK specialising in the study of Asia, Africa and the Near and Middle East. Reporting to the Head of Security and Safety the SHEQ Manager is responsible forreconciling the strategic and comprehensive H&S Strategy of the School. You will be given considerable autonomy and will develop and maintain positive and collaborative internal networks, providing advice to staff at all levels. You will use your expertiseand external networks to inform the ongoing review and development of H&S policy and procedures. The successful candidate will bring a comprehensive knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and will possess (or be working towards) a NEBOSH Diploma or similar such as NVQ5. You will have experience of working within a SHEQ role in a comparable complex experience gained within education is desirable however is not essential. Your new role You will be required to do all aspects of general labouring work - clearances, moving materials etc You will need to work independently as well as working with a team.
