I am currently recruiting for a Joiner on behalf of my client, a local Authority in South Yorkshire. They are looking to employ a Joiner to work on void and tennanted properties in Doncaster. Duties of the Joiner will include: Level access shower installation Kitchen installations Door widenings and the removal and installation of internal walls. To renew/repair of gates and posts and fittings. To renew and repair of timber flooring including floor tiles, skirting boards and associated work To carry out general internal joinery duties including: renewal and repair of bath panels and frames, pipe boxing, skirting boards, curtain rails etc To carry out general external joinery duties including: renewal and repair of timber mouldings, barge boards, cladding etc To be successful in this role, you will have: Joinery experience and qualifications are essential for this role Extensive knowledge of building trade. We have a fantastic opportunity a Qualified Joiner at Doncaster Council. This is a full-time temporary role for the next 6 months, with the possibility of extension. What is the role? Doncaster Council are looking for a Joiner to work on private and authority housing within the City of Doncaster. We carry adaptation works to people's properties, to make their properties more adequate for their needs. The work we carry out is but not limited to, Level access shower installation, Kitchen installations, door widenings and the removal and installation of internal walls. What are your responsibilities? Joinery experience and qualifications are essential for this role. Been able to carry out other minor tasked would be beneficial but not essential (as long as a willingness to learn on the job) i.e. minor plumbing, tiling, plastering. The work is all within the boundary of Doncaster and later on down the line there is the possibility of a van been provided (subject to passing a medical and driver assessment). Before a van is offered the successful candidate will need to make their own way to the place of work, i.e. North Bridge Depot or the address of the work been undertaken. To renew/repair internal doors and frames and fittings, renew/repair of external doors and frames and fittings. To renew/repair of gates and posts and fittings and renew/repair of wooden windows and fittings and associated work. To renew and repair of timber flooring including floor tiles, skirting boards and associated work. To renew/repair stairs, renew/repair kitchen units including worktops and all fittings. To renew/repair external canopies, renew/repair wood fencing and posts. To complete out repairs and renewal to fuel bunkers and carry out repairs/renew garage doors including all fittings. To carry out general internal joinery duties including - renewal and repair of bath panels and frames, pipe boxing, skirting boards, curtain rails, ceiling tiles, wall boarding, studded walls, grabrails, architraves, and mouldings including all internal fittings Carry out general external joinery duties including - renewal and repair of timber mouldings, barge boards, claddings, facia boards, gutters, soffit boards, glazing. What skills do you Need? Must have previous Joinery experience, as a qualified joiner. Excellent people skills, as you will be speaking to the public, and other members of staff. Must be physically fit and healthy, as you may be lifting heavy items and working at different locations daily. Valid Enhanced DBS on the update service Valid UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle You will need your own hand and power tools. NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Carpentry / Joinery.
