I am working on an exclusive basis with my client to join their procurement and supply chain organisation; to be accountable for developing and embedding procurement strategies in conjunction with other functions, for delivering total cost of ownership requirements, partnering with key suppliers in target category areas, leading strategic category procurement (sourcing) related activities, and ensuring responsibility for sourcing is managed directly through the sourcing team and indirectly across other colleagues.
While this role directly manages an Assistant Buyer who supports the overall procurement strategy deliverables, s/he would liaise closely with the neighbouring logistics team in ensuring the drafting of competent requests for quotations, integrating purchase ordering processes into framework agreements, developing budgets, and setting savings targets.
S/he would also lead the management of accreditation procedures of overall supply chain and supplier performance management procedures, ensuring cost/quality requirements are met and for operational delivery through an outsourcing model for key categories of spend.
