Procurement Manager Offering between £300-£320 per day London 6-month fixed term contract Remote working About the role A key member of the Procurement Organisation the incumbent will support Content Management (CM) sourcing and procurement strategies within the Pearson business, across all business units globally. Content Management covers Content Development, Creation and Production including Editorial, Digital Content, Accessibility, Translation Services, Project Management and Quality Services. Key responsibilities Develop and implement procurement commodity strategies Collaborate with key business partners to define strategic initiatives, proactively identify potential sourcing opportunities. Conduct market analysis and benchmarking of Pearson supplier's contracts and pricing. Source / develop and manage a pool of approved commodity suppliers that are able to meet the service and quality levels of the business Provide analysis and data metrics on existing and potential new vendors to support and inform new strategies. Coordinate commodity sourcing and procurement of products / services on a regional and global basis, providing guidance and advice on all negotiations with suppliers. Assist or lead on negotiations on prices and service levels with existing and new vendors, whilst ensuring best practices and approaches are met. Develop strategic relationships with vendors Support business partners in maintaining Service Level Agreements (SLA's) with vendors as required Support the CSC in updating and maintaining price scales and pricing components in Pearson systems Ensure effective contract management and conduct analysis and regular review of all supplier contracts. Support cost reduction projects. Undertake supplier strategy risk assessments and backup planning Identify trends / new products / services / suppliers and provide updates to key stakeholders. Ensure compliance to internal and regulatory requirements; revise policies or procedures commensurate with changes in industry, company, or customer requirements Requirements Educated to university degree level. Experience in managing Content Commodity. Proven track record, in cost reduction, contract negotiation and international sourcing 5 years of experience Demonstrates strategic and conceptual capabilities, combined with creative thinking and an international perspective. Strong analytical skills and abilities to undertake research when required. Has a high level of credibility and highly versatile and comfortable in dealing at all levels. A demonstrable record of the highest standards of personal and business integrity is a must. Self-starter with a high energy level and team focus, a "can do" attitude is essential. Ability to work effectively with others in cross-functional teams. Ability to foster instrumental relationships and work effectively with others, obtaining alignment, building relationships and exploiting group's strengths. Ability to work under pressure to deadlines. Highly functional in team settings. Proven organizational and planning skills with a keen eye for detail and sound, demonstrable operational, administrative, and technical judgement.
