The role is a full-time position, based in Nottingham head office. The role is to manage business incidents/complaints to ensure they are correctly assessed against safety, regulatory and brand risk. Ensuring the issue is handled in a responsible manner and the business is aligned with the approach taken.Contract: Permanent Recruitment Partner: Laura Taylor About the role The Incident and Recall Technologist reports to the Incident and Recall Manager within the Quality, Safety, and Regulatory department where our small team handle all product incidents and product recalls for Boots UK/ROI. Within the team, we cover all product categories including cosmetics, medicines and medical devices, food, hard goods and clothing for the Boots brands and proprietary products. Key duties are: Ensures the triage of potential product incidents. Liaises with key Technical and Business stakeholders to ensure effective Risk Assessment and management of incidents. Sets up product inspection criteria to ensure that the scale and issue are articulated clearly for the Risk assessment. Is responsible for communication with all relevant stakeholders including Boots/Retail partners and stores to ensure the blocking and retrieval of stock. Responsible for ensuring that recalled stock is consolidated and compliance is achieved. Ensures that product disposition has occurred in line with relevant product-specific requirements e.g., Medicines, Medical Devices Conducts investigations to determine the root cause of quality incidents with suppliers and CAPA actions completed. Captures incident details on the electronic quality management system Ensures learnings and best practice from Incidents and recalls are shared across the business What you'll need to have Previous experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment either the food industry, medicines or medical devices, or cosmetics industry. Ability to maintain a focused and pragmatic approach under pressure Leadership experience Ability to communicate effectively and at all levels within the organisation Facilitation skills Ability to question and interpret suppliers' investigation reports and challenge conclusions. Good knowledge and use of Microsoft tools. It would be great if you also have Experience in managing product quality issues and risk assessment activities for product recalls/withdrawals. Previous experience working with regulatory bodies. Experience in product inspection and report writing.
