My client works across a range of sectors, which includes rail. Experience of station upgrades in communal areas (not track) would be advantageous. Your new roleYour new role as a Quantity Surveyor for this business would be to oversee the day to day running of projects, which could include multiple smaller value projects.Job duties will include but not be limited to: Client Interaction: Meeting with clients to understand their needs and discussing any areas that require revision for price or feasibility. Cost Estimation: Calculating material quantities, labour costs, and an achievable project time frame. Contract Negotiation: Negotiating labour contracts and schedules. Legal Guidance: Advising clients and crew on legal matters and disputes. Subcontractor Management: Monitoring subcontractors, safety practices, construction progress, and material needs, including any changes that may impact costs. Financial Reporting: Preparing labour and supplier accounts for payment. Progress Updates: Writing reports detailing costs and project progress for clients. What you'll need to succeedYou will need a strong background as a Quantity Surveyor with a range of values and intricacies. You will have good management skills, and be able to build lasting relationships with stakeholders of all levels.
