OAT Test tester required for the delivery of the NTIS2 program Primary location Home but with one location needed for travel...Quinton, Birmingham Role Overview To provide enhanced specialist OAT planning, testing and comprehensive analytical and coordination skills as part of a team taking responsibility for providing a testing service, as part of a key testing project. Key Responsibilities To deliver work to agreed estimates and timescales Carry out the OAT testing in line with the Test Framework, Test Policy and Test Strategy. Support production of the OAT test plan during test planning to ensure non-functional test requirements are fully captured, including input on test environments, tooling and resource requirements Prepare test scenarios & test cases in line with OAT scope and create test data for testing Managing requirements traceability to ensure appropriate test coverage and satisfy auditability of OAT testing Perform validation of documentation, Policies, Processes for in-house/vendor products for smooth transition to Production Identifying test execution and process automation opportunities to increase efficiency of test activities To create and manage test data and specify testing environments for more complex requirements To support and execute all levels of testing by actively coordinating other parties involved in the project and to document and verify test results To raise, record and monitor details of incidents encountered during testing To produce metrics on tests executed and incidents raised and proactively facilitate the resolution of errors To use testing tools, as required and assist with tool evaluation as appropriate To report own and team's progress and issues in a timely manner as defined in the Test Strategy and the agreed team organisation To escalate issues that might impact on quality or the ability to complete tests according to plan, and to proactively seek appropriate solutions Essential Skills At an advanced level able to articulate and demonstrate a good understanding of: Test Management: Responsibilities for the Test Analyst Improving The Testing Process Test Techniques Testing Software Quality Characteristics Reviews Defect Management Test Tools And Automation Strong experience & working knowledge of performing - Resilience/Failover, Backup & Recovery, Disaster Recovery, Monitoring & Alerting, Deployment & Rollback, Logging & Auditing tests Strong experience working closely with different teams; Operational, Support, Development Teams Proven experienced testing cloud infrastructure, ideally showing an understanding of common Azure (or other cloud) architectures, and designing OAT scope for a given infrastructure Understanding of the differences between on premise and cloud hosted architectures and testing considerations of each type of architecture Has demonstrable in-depth experience in using common business technology (for example, MS Office suite of tools) Has demonstrable in-depth experience of using business technology within a specific domain; including at least one of the following: applications, infrastructure, security, networks Able to produce a wide range of test deliverables in-line with applicable standards. Demonstrable experience of working as an OAT Test Lead within large / complex solutions integration programmes / projects Desirable Skills International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) Test Analyst Advanced Level Certification International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) Test Manager Advanced Level Certification Good knowledge of the latest developments and future strategy for their technology area, and an awareness of its application within past and present Sopra Steria engagements

Right now, we're looking for a Quality Engineer Trainee to join our Quality team based at our Wednesbury site. This role will require some regular travel abroad to our global suppliers in Europe, India, China and Turkey to undertake site visits and audits to support improvements from our third-party suppliers. As part of the Quality Engineer (QE) Trainee role you will be undertake a 3 year apprenticeship programme. You will start on the E.ON QE foundation level course and will have hands on coaching and mentoring in all aspects of Quality deployment. All throughout your journey you will be supported by an academic structure of learning formally recognised by the Chartered Quality Institute. At the end of the 3-year programme you will be degree level qualified, and experienced, to become a fully-fledged Quality Engineer. Here's what you'll be doing Quality Analysis and fault finding of assets and failed assets from the field. Including electric vehicle charge points and Gas/Electric meters and Smart meters. Quality Analysis of new assets from our third party suppliers. Manage internal and external stakeholders associated with asset failure. Incident management associated with asset failure. Support the development and implementation of quality tools, process and approaches for E.ON's vendor quality management Auditing vendor quality processes and documentation Undertake vendor manufacturing sites audits. Support the developing of the scope of quality assurance for assets Manage Quality KPI's for Asset & Logistics Engage with senior management at the vendor organisations and internal E.ON management to report on progress and to raise and resolve any issues Manage daily / weekly Quality improvement meetings with vendors What we need from you A basic understanding of engineering Excellent level of Maths/English A passion for energy asset engineering and the willingness to learn and develop a career A full valid UK/EU driving licence Valid passport with the ability to travel internationally at short notice.
