Health & Safety Advisor Our client, a market-leading engineering company is currently seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to join their team. This is a full-time permanent position, working 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday located in Norwich. The Role An exciting opportunity has arisen following an internal promotion, for a Health & Safety Advisor to join our client's team. Reporting directly into the Health & Safety Manager, the successful candidate will support delivery of the Health & Safety agenda. Key Tasks & Responsibilities will include Support the Health & Safety Manager in delivery of the health and safety plan Providing Health & Safety support to the Department Managers, Project Mangers, Supervisors on a day-to-day basis Provide Health & Safety advice to the Management team as required, including HSE guidance and best practice Supporting the process of accident and incident reporting, ensuring that all incidents are correctly recorded, investigated and corrective actions are implemented. Assist in the development and implementation of risk assessments and safe systems of work Leading and facilitating Health & Safety improvement projects Conducting Health & Safety audits Delivering in-house short health and safety training sessions to employees Due to the nature of the role, the position will need to be primarily site based The Successful Candidate Experience of working within manual, high risk environments such as engineering, manufacturing, construction where there is a proactive, best in class safety culture Strong competence in incident investigation and root cause analysis Knowledge of relevant legislation and experience of working with regulatory bodies. Ability to share best practice safety behaviours with colleagues to positively change the safety culture of the business. An aptitude for coaching and training team members in H&S matters A strong, resilient and approachable persona, capable of working under own direction and delivering results. Experience of working within a proactive safety culture or delivery of a behavioural safety programme NEBOSH qualified (or equivalent) and member of IOSH would be advantageous. Leading Norwich based engineering business now has a position available for Quality Inspector. The role exists to ensure that all products meet the quality requirements of the customer and the organisation and, as a hands-on mechanical inspector, you will be responsible for executing general inspection functions both visual and dimensional, including correctly and properly using mechanical measuring devices and reporting results. Responsibilities of this position include; Perform complete inspections to engineering drawings. Conduct measurements using precision instruments such as micrometres, vernier callipers, dial test indicators. Locate datum's on parts and measure dimensions such as angle, arc and radii using a combination of aids such as parallel bars, gauge blocks, v blocks, sine bars and precision measuring instruments. Visually compare work pieces against one another to assess in process manufacturing variations. Report quality problems or findings and follow up to ensure corrective action has been put in place. Interact with different departments to ensure compliance with specification and to facilitate acceptance of parts. Inspect surface coatings such as anodising, phosphate and paint to specifications. Check commercial off the shelf items conform to specifications required and the relevant documentation has been received. Essential attributes: Good computer and communication skills. Good attention to detail. A positive 'can do' approach. Full Driving Licence to drive in the UK and abroad. Valid passport with no travel restrictions. The ability to work individually and as part of a team. Good working knowledge of engineering drawings including GD&T. Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight schedules.
