Leads the quality function through people, motivating and bringing out the best in them to achieve both functional and Company objectives. Maintain a documented QMS in accordance with the requirements of the above standards, taking full accountability for the QMS and related quality function activities In conjunction with the senior leadership team, propose and plan changes that will lead us to our goals. This will also involve budgeting, project planning and implementation. To improve quality performance using continuous improvement tools. Lead investigations into quality related issues occurring both internally and externally. Maintain, develop, and prepare quality documentation for the annual audit. Liaise with and assist Departmental Managers with their responsibilities. Lead, manage, coordinate, and perform Internal Quality and External audits to EN 9100:2018 (AS9100) Rev D including ISO9001:2015 Work with the Supply Chain Director supporting Supplier Development. Generate and develop Quality Performance Data, Metrics, KPI's. Assist and liaise with Customers on all quality related issues. Monitor and plan the workload of the quality team. Skills & Experience Required: Experience of working in a Quality position to a Senior or Management level within Electronic Manufacturing. Has or is working toward a Chartered Quality Professional status. Good understanding and experience of AS9100 and ISO9001 Quality Standards. Performing Internal Audits to AS9100 / ISO9001. Demonstrable ability to lead and motivate direct reports. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with good attention to detail - ability to investigate issues and complete NCR's and 8D's. Ability to work well in multidiscipline and cross functional teams. Excellent interpersonal skills such as influencing and ability to build long term relationships with customers. What's Next? A fantastic opportunity for a Quality Manager has arisen at a Cambridge based cutting edge leading product development company whose innovative technology is reshaping the medical, life science and research sectors! The Quality Manager will be an integral member of the company's management team focused on the development and implementation of quality procedures and processes at this fast growing and successful complex small electro-mechanical instrumentation manufacturing business. As the Quality Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the quality department and it's QMS whilst implementing and improving processes across all departments from goods in, through production, quality control through to product delivery! You will take responsibility for all quality-based documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) not to mention related audits (both internally and externally) to ensure all parties are at the appropriate standard (ISO 13485) - working with internal stakeholders, customers and suppliers to ensure the delivery of high product quality across the business. You will be a leading driver of quality processes throughout the company putting your stamp on how all processes are done to the highest standards whilst fostering a continuous improvement mentality. This is an all-encompassing role where you will utilise all your skills and experience of both technical and commercial nature being the quality authority on site! The Quality Manager will need the following skills and experience: Strong academic background - A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant technical discipline Practical, hands-on approach to quality processes in manufacturing and service provision Recent and relevant experience in a senior quality role (e.g. Quality Manager / Deputy Quality Manager / Senior Quality Engineer) within a medical device manufacturing environment Extensive experience within Quality Management Systems along with the medical device standards of ISO 13485. Advanced Quality knowledge (e.g. APQP [inc. PPAP, FMEA], CAPA, continuous improvement, problem solving, 5S, Risk Assessment, etc.) Experience maintaining and developing a QMS (or contributing to the maintenance and development thereof), including its high-level structure and architecture, balancing multiple stakeholders' inputs and interests. Excellent attention to detail goes without saying, thus experience of technical writing and drafting formal quality documentation would be required.
