The ideal person must have a confident and friendly telephone manner, be able to communicate on all levels and have an analytical mind. General Information This role is homebased but on the odd occasion you may be required to visit the nearest office to you for occasional meetings. Interviews will be carried out via Teams. This role requires a good working knowledge of Project/Revenue Accounting and Accounts Payable best practices. It is the first level of support for the Project Accountant, Accounts Assistant and Credit Controller Principal responsibilities will involve: Support in the preparation of the monthly management accounts and provision of detailed analysis into key variances against budget with detailed commentary Assistance in the preparation of the monthly board reports including like for like analysis Work closely with internal team to identify project profitability and analyse the data to deliver meaningful financial information to the management team. Assist with the development of revenue recognition and cost accruals processes for newly implemented finance system Ownership of month-end processes including maintenance and reporting of AP and AR ledgers, prepayments and overhead accruals as well as the review of bank reconciliations Preparation of commission calculations Support in the preparation of the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting Analysis and reporting of overhead team budgets and review with SLT team members Responsible for the royalties calculation and accounting Assist in the annual external audit process, providing key audit data and explanations as and when necessary Preparation and submission of VAT quarterly returns Preparation and analysis of weekly/monthly cashflow report Maintaining and reconciling company's fixed asset register Taking a lead role and providing assistance with various ad-hoc activities Business Partnering colleagues across the business to improve their knowledge and understanding of the financial elements of the business Competencies and Behaviours Demonstrable relevant experience Have applied technical and analytical skills using Excel Ideally be educated to degree level in a numerate subject, and with strong A-levels in mathematical/ scientific based subjects Part/Newly qualified ACCA/CIMA Have excellent communication skills Have a keen eye for detail Have pride in your deliverables Are highly organised and good at planning Good at working independently and as part of a team Are flexible and self-motivated Are good under pressure Able to travel throughout the UK Have the right to work in the UK Able to attend the office min 3 days per week Have a commitment to personal development
