Our client, a leading company in the industry, is looking for a dedicated Product Quality Engineer to join their Head Office team based in Billingham. About the Role: Reporting to the Product Manager, the Product Quality Engineer will play a pivotal role in establishing and developing a robust internal product quality system. This role is crucial for ensuring products meet the highest standards and exceed customer expectations. Location: Billingham Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 (DOE) Hours: 8am-4.30pm or 8.30am -5pm (40 hour week) Company Performance Related Bonus Key Responsibilities: Develop & Implement Quality Plan: Create and execute an annual Quality Plan to establish and deliver a strong product quality process aligned with the QMS system. Ensure Compliance: Maintain compliance with regulations such as WRAS, CE, and BS. Build relationships with compliance bodies and supply partners, and train internal stakeholders. Build Knowledge Hub: Collaborate with the Product team to develop an internal technical knowledge hub linked to the ERP system for Sales and Customer Service reference. Quality Investigations: Oversee supplier product and part-level quality investigations, coordinating with internal teams and suppliers to resolve issues. Quality Checks: Implement and oversee a system of goods-in checks for incoming stock and assembled items, training operatives to maintain standards. Customer Service Support: Assist customer service with compliance questions and resolving field product issues. Escalation Point: Act as the escalation point for all product quality or compliance-related matters within the business. Manage NCR System: Drive root cause analysis investigations on product issues, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and ensure timely resolution. Support QMS & ISO Accreditations: Aid in internalizing the QMS in line with UKAS accredited ISO9001 compliance and assist in preparing for ISO14001 accreditation. Requirements: Education & Experience: Level 4 or above qualification in Quality Management, Quality Assurance, Design, or Engineering. At least 5 years post-training experience in a Quality role, with a modern apprenticeship in a relevant field being advantageous. Industry: Ideal experience would come from a metal engineered product environment, for example Automotive, Furniture, Medical Devices or similar. Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading technical drawings, understanding Engineering and tolerances, and all Microsoft Office products. An internal audit qualification and knowledge of hydrodynamics are beneficial. Personal Competencies: A humble, hungry, and smart individual who is independent, analytical, and has a strong concern for standards. You should possess excellent numeracy and analytical skills, be detail-oriented, organized, and a natural team player with outstanding communication abilities.
