The successful candidate will have a high degree of mechanical aptitude, mechanical and heavy manufacturing experience and excellent communication skills. Job Duties will include: Ability to work on various production machinery throughout the manufacturing process, including lathes, milling machines and saws. Demonstrate knowledge of appropriate tooling and ability to select the correct speeds and feeds. Carry out basic quality and testing checks. Conduct daily maintenance checks on machinery and equipment. Read and interpret engineering drawings (both metric and imperial). Adheres to all Health and Safety guidelines. Manual handling will be involved so applicants must be physically fit and have a good understanding of written instruction. The working hours are based on a rotating shift pattern : Days : Monday - Thursday, 06:00 - 16:15 (with 30 min unpaid lunch) Lates: Monday - Thursday, 16:15 - 02:00 (with 30 min unpaid lunch) and would carry shift premium of 23% Pay Rate: Day shift - £12 p/h Afternoon shift - £14.76 p/h Overtime will be available at premium rates. Skills and Experience required: Minimum of 5 years' experience within an engineering / manufacturing discipline. Demonstrable experience of leading a manufacturing function with a proven track record in similar role. Significant manufacturing experience in an operational management role at a senior level Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements. Proven project management and build quality experience. Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development. Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders. Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines. Resilient, self-motivated and able to work well under pressure. Be able to identify possibilities for improvements, future investments and opportunities to streamline production for efficiency and to enhance quality and reduce turnaround times. Experience within an ISO9001 organisation, maintaining the high standards and quality of information required. Strong attention to detail. Experience working within a fabrication machining shop environment.
