Production Planner Our client based on the outskirts of Cirencester is recruiting a Production & Logistics Planner to join their team. The objective of this role is to review and manage the assembly production plan, working with the production teams (scheduling, purchasing, warehousing, production and logistics) to supply all demand in line with customer needs. Due to location transport is a must. Key Responsibilities will include: Fully understand and develop an MRP system; Develop production schedules; Monitor the progress of projects to ensure they are following the schedule; To manage the release of sales order demand into the factory; Collect and assess data about the production department's performance; Prepare reports about production processes for Senior Management and suggests ways to improve efficiency; Drive efficiencies within the production departments; Produce and deliver production plans based on both actual and predicted orders; Ensure the effective flow of materials through the different manufacturing processes; Manage all product sales lead-times aiming to meet the customer's requested delivery dates; Creation and management of the assembly production plans; Update all reports required to support customer service and business reporting; Support New Product Introductions and continuous improvement programs; Understand detailed quotes for large order demands; Working with the Production Manager to develop both the team and individuals The ideal candidate for this Production Planner role will have the following skills and attributes: Must have experience in production planning, preferably with use of an MRP Experience using an IT based planning system. Good organizational skills, an acute attention to detail and high level of accuracy Good time management and prioritization skills, ability to meet deadlines Good level of initiative, ability to address problems and issues without guidance In return: up to £32k Hours 8.30am to 5pm - Monday to Friday Free parking Free tea. As a Production Planner, you will play a crucial role in coordinating manufacturing operations and ensuring the smooth flow of production processes. If you have a keen eye for detail, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for efficient planning, we would like to hear from you. Responsibilities: Conduct detailed analysis of Engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to facilitate informed make/buy decisions. Generate production part numbers and develop manufacturing BOMs when required. Issue production orders to initiate manufacturing activities. Collaborate with other Production Planners to minimise scheduling conflicts across Operations departments. Provide clear instructions to the Purchasing team regarding procurement requirements and delivery schedules. Obtain agreement from stakeholders if planned dates deviate from requested dates. Identify critical path items and liaise with Purchasing to expedite their procurement. Initiate requests for quotations for parts through collaboration with the Purchasing department. Maintain up-to-date price information for items to be sold by the Sales department. Estimate material and labour costs to support bidding activities. Ensure compliance with company policy in managing Personal Data. Requirements: Proven experience in production planning or a related field. Strong proficiency in analysing Engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs). Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work. Proficient in using production planning software and MS Office Suite. Knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management.
