Elevation Recruitment Group are working with an innovative FMCG company based in Worksop to recruit a Production Team Leader to join their vibrant manufacturing facility as they enter their next phase of growth. Hours: Days and nights rotational shift pattern - 12 hours per shift and plenty of rest days! Reporting to the Shift Operations Manager, the Production Team Leader will support daily operations whilst leading a team to deliver on the production plan. Our client is looking for an experienced Production Team Leader with an excellent track record in an FMCG environment who can embrace the culture of the company and its values whilst leading a diverse team of production operatives. Duties of the Production Team Leader include: Ensure daily handovers between departments are completed and any potential issues are discussed and documented Work closely with the procurement and planning team to ensure production output meets sales demand Provide supervision, support and leadership to the Production team and identifying areas to improve production processes and develop people Ensure that labour is managed effectively to ensure production can be maintained and daily targets are met to high standards of quality We would be keen to speak with Production Team Leaders with the following skills and experience : Strong production leadership background in an FMCG manufacturing environment with a collaborative management style Excellent communication skills with a right first time' mindset QHSE focussed Results driven, with a strong problem solving mindset with the ability to analyse production data and look for opportunities to improve This is an ideal role for a Production Team Leader who enjoys a challenge and is keen to be involved with building a strong value orientated production team from the ground up. What you'll be doing To ensure that all equipment on the line is operated correctly and efficiently, whilst carrying out appropriate frontline maintenance to maintain and improve the equipment performance and maximise product output whilst maintaining product quality. Setting up and maintaining the machines at the beginning of the product and throughout. Ensure the machines run to optimum efficiency by investigating downtime and ensuring corrective action is implemented through SIC (Short Interval Control) reviews and PPM Systems. Proactively identify and resolve any issues with the machines to ensure they are resolved in a timely manner. Endeavour to keep waste levels to an absolute minimum and continuously work to reduce these levels. Overseeing line activity, by ensuring all aspects of the line are running at the correct pace. Carryout paperwork for the machinery to ensure Health and Safety measurements are adhered to. Cleaning and maintaining machinery and work areas to be at a high standard at all times. You must have full understanding of the sites Food Safety, HACCP, QA and Hygiene Standards whilst also carrying out safety checks or risk assessments when required. Understand the customer standards and specifications for each product to ensure the line minimises any complaints or rejections by maintaining the quality of product and packaging at all times. Maintain a constant understanding of changes and adaptations made to the equipment or machinery on the line. Ensure any changes are cascaded to individuals in the team where appropriate. Strong ability to use measurement tools. Good understanding of production procedures and best practices. Excellent knowledge of safety methods and hazard regulations. Ability to read manuals, blueprints, and handbooks. Good physical stamina and keen attention to detail. What you'll be doing As a Skilled production Operative you will work a busy environment, on your feet supporting up to 3 different products on one line. Working alongside the Line Coordinator you will work as the link between prep and production, ensuring the require products are available and prepared on time. You will be responsible for ensuring colleagues on the production line have ingredients constantly to hand and that any machinery used online doesn't run out of ingredients. This role is a physical job which will include lifting and maneuvering high volume products. Communication skills are essential. Working to meet targets daily you will complete paperwork to ensure we are meeting guidelines and food safety. A good understanding of English is required as you will be communicating on a regular basis with the Line Controller as well as completing paperwork. Educated to GCSE or equivalent and have some understanding of basic food safety. Previous experience of working within a similar role within food manufacturing would be required whilst qualifications within Food Hygiene and health and safety would be extremely beneficial. You will enjoy working as part of a team environment, have good communication skills, strong attention to detail and sound organisation skills.
