Your new role As Materials Buyer, you will be responsible for the effective spend management of £12m of both material spend and indirect spend. The role entails managing key commercial relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, so you will need to be a confident communicator who can easily adapt their communication style to suit your audience. You will monitor and track market rates for materials, and you will effectively negotiate with suppliers to agree terms and prices which are commercially viable and favourable, which deliver the best value for money. The majority of the role is focused around raw materials spend, so ideally, you will have prior experience in this area of spend already. The role is office based 5 days per week and the working hours are Monday-Thursday 0800-1600, and Friday 0800-1530. As Stock and Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of stock management and procurement processes to ensure the timely delivery of quality materials, whilst optimising costs and maintaining inventory levels. In the position you will, Develop and implement inventory control procedures across the complete business to ensure accurate stock levels are always maintained. Conduct Regular stocktakes and reconcile discrepancies.
