Role: This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual, with recent experience of printing on Narrow Web Label Presses to join a well-established company in Buckinghamshire. As part of their continued growth, our client is looking to recruit an experienced Printer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working within the flexo narrow web label sector, but consideration will also be given to candidates with any print and packaging experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of flexo print & turret rewinders Specialising in self-adhesive packaging for the food and non-food industries, . Running multi-colour flexo presses Producing high quality labels with a variety of finishes You will be expected to carryout routine machine maintenance and keep the press at optimum condition Ensuring that the area, equipment and machinery are kept clean and tidy Troubleshooting issues with the printing press or print quality Ensuring that all Health, Safety and Environmental Policies relating to your work area are adhered to by you at all times Carry out basic maintenance in accordance with standard procedures Requirements: Hold sufficient and recent flexographic printing experience Have experience operating a flexo printer - Mark Andy, Nilpeter, MPS, Edale etc. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working within the narrow web label sector - will also consider wide web print Be aware of flexo print process Previously or currently printed labels / packaging preferred Hot foil and screen print experience Demonstrable experience of working to high quality standards Demonstrable experience of good team working & communication skills Candidates need to be self-motivated, have a flexible approach and a keen eye for quality and detail and concern for accuracy. Reprographics Assistant Duration: 8 weeks Start date: ASAP ideally Thursday 30th May 2024 Terms: 35 hours per week 9.30am to 5.30pm with one hour unpaid lunch, Monday to Friday except for Bank Holidays and School Closures. The Reprographics Department is a small team working in a busy office environment and is responsible for producing a large percentage of the School's digital copy and print requirement often to tight deadlines. Reprographics Department also provides printing, copying and scanning services to students, staff and faculty via MFDs located in various locations around the school campus including Halls of Residences. The service uses 129 MFDs working with Papercut print management system. Job Summary: Reporting to the Reprographics Manager, the Reprographics Assistant is responsible for the maintenance of the School's fleet of photocopiers/MFDs ensuring that all fully stocked with consumables - paper, toner and staples (if applicable). This will be done on a routine basis, monitoring both open-access and departmental devices. Monitoring all MFDs through SRDM monitoring software for stock requirements and faults Delivering paper around campus, replacing toners and attending MFDs, helping users staff and students to print. To rectify minor faults (e.g. jammed paper) and escalate to engineer callout when appropriate. Dealing with varied general enquires face-to-face, over the phone or by e-mail exploring customer needs and using appropriate sources of information to answer questions; Supporting the print operator with basic finishing (training will be given) such as: thermal binding, spiral binding folding, creasing, print boxing & labelling. General help around the department using various printing and finishing equipment such as digital printers, wide format printers, thermal and coil binders, guillotine, folders, encapsulates, packing printed materials cleanly and accurately and delivering printed matter around campus.
