We have a Hydraulic Engineer role available within TATA Steel. This role is ideal for someone with strong knowledge and experience of the maintenance of hydraulic and pressure systems. The successful applicant will support TATA Steels cold rolled products department (CRP) Role: Hydraulic Engineer Location: TATA Steel, Port Talbot SA13 2NG Rate: £38,000 per annum (£20.02ph) Contract length: 6 months initially Shift Patterns: Day shifts, 08:00-16:00, Mon - Fri, 36.5 hours per week Responsibilities: Maintaining and improving the safety and reliability of hydraulic systems within the department. Working on hydraulic equipment, pumps, valves, filters etc, including , fault finding diagnosis and rectification Assisting the department to reduce hydraulic oil consumption by reducing oil loss Acting as the departments senior responsible person for the fluid power permitry, including carrying out 3 year review of all the departments authorised and competent people Assisting with the training and testing of authorised people Managing contract labour to carry out maintenance activities when required during normal operation /downshift / major stops Managing the maintenance of CRP hydraulic equipment accumulators and components to maintain PSSR compliance Managing all work though the SAP system, to maintain records of all maintenance tasks carried out and build maintenance history Developing upgrades / improvements to improve reliability / combat equipment obsolescence issues and managing change through Management of change (MOC) database Procurement of labour, tools, mobile plant and equipment as identified by a planned maintenance task or event Reviewing and authoring safe working procedures Carrying out monthly departmental fluid power audits and reporting centrally Managing contract labour through PBS / CAT1 systems Carrying out Safety Audits as per schedule and on time Essential requirements: Detailed knowledge of Hydraulic and pressure systems maintenance Extensive working experience with Hydraulic and pressure systems HNC level 4 or equivalent (obtained through craft apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or modern apprenticeship certificate) Benefits: Advice and editing on your current CV Dedicated team throughout your journey within the role Paid holiday Exclusive online services including restaurant and retail discounts Chance to receive £300 for referring a friend Opportunity for progression into permanent roles Competitive rates of pay Does this role sound interesting?
