Job Title: TA/ Communication Support using Sign Language Location: Bournemouth Salary: £13- £14 per hour Start date: June 2024 Hours: Full-time Monday-Friday 8:30-15:30 (term-time only) Contract: Fixed-term until the end of the next academic year Do you hold a British Sign Language (BSL) qualification and are now seeking a role where you can implement your skills and experience? Do you have a passion for communication and supporting young people to access education? If so, this could be the job you are looking for! GSL Education are currently recruiting a 1:1 Teaching Assistant who can communicate effectively using sign language. The role consists of supporting a pupil 1:1 using clear spoken English and BSL, so that they can access the content of the lesson and engage in the learning alongside their peers. The ideal candidate would hold a Level 3 in British Sign Language, however if you have a wealth of experience communicating using sign language without this qualification you could still be considered for the role. The role will commence the first week of June 2024 and will be a fixed-term position up until the end of the next academic year initially.
