They are seeking a well-versed Practice Manager to join their expanding team. This person will be responsible for overseeing the administrative and operational aspects of the firm. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and smooth functioning of the firm, requiring a can-do attitude and willingness to get involved in various aspects of the firm. This role could also suit a Solicitor who is looking to move across to the operational side of a firm. Day to day responsibilites to include but not limited to - Handling the day-to-day operational aspects of the firm, such as office management, facilities, and technology - ensuring that the firm has the necessary resources and infrastructure to support its legal work. Recruitment and onboarding processes for legal staff. This includes hiring new solicitors, paralegals, and support staff, as well as overseeing training and professional development programs. Overseeing administrative staff responsible for tasks like scheduling, document management, and client intake processes. As Practice Manager, you will be responsible for managing the operations and personnel of a busy and growing law practice. This is a highly varied role which will involve many facets of the business including working closely with the partners on compliance and legal matters. Monday to Friday - 9:00am - 5:00pm There is potential negotiation for remote working and flexibility on working times to suit personal requirements. Job duties: Leadership of the accounts department, including day-to-day and annual responsibilities related to the firm's financial accounts. Provide expert advice on regulatory compliance, including the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and Solicitors' Accounts Rules (SARs) Organise insurance, accreditation, and practising certificate renewals Collaborate with third-party suppliers to optimise performance systems Implement best practices in line with Lexcel, CQS, and SRA guidelines Update office policies and procedures as needed Maintain the firm's website to reflect accurate and relevant information Prepare data for the firm's accountants during annual SARs audits and year-end accounts. Handle payroll administration Support accountants with Partners' tax returns Ensure timely NI/Tax payments to HMRC Oversee Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII) renewals Supervise Head of Accounts and reception staff/post room Manage HR functions, including recruitment and maintaining/updating the staff benefits scheme Facilitate Practising Certificate bulk renewal applications Promote a positive work environment and address employee needs Overall responsibility for the IT across the firm Maintain Cyber Essentials standards Candidate Specification: Previous experience as a Practice Manager within a reputable firm of solicitors. Strong understanding of the Solicitors' Accounts Rules and SRA obligations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage deadlines independently. Excellent knowledge of legal case management systems and Microsoft tools.
