To provide good quality advice, information and assistance through face to face interviews, home visits, by telephone and LBTH JD and PS Template May 2021 by correspondence within a casework based customer care framework, ensuring all deadlines are met and appropriate referrals are made to other agencies to properly progress the case.
To advise on all matters relating to landlord and tenant disputes and to negotiate with landlords to prevent homelessness and provide practical assistance to help customers remain in their accommodation or move to alternative accommodation thereby preventing homelessness.
To conduct housing advice interviews with local private sector residents focussing on preventing homelessness and giving good quality advice on the potential avenues to resolve problems and on housing choices available so that customers can make informed decisions about their options.
To provide a range of interventions to individuals who may be experiencing mental health crisis specific to service user need and where required make legally defensible decisions about the need for compulsory detention under the Mental Health Act.
The service operates 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. daily although there may be occasions when assessments fall outside these times.
To participate in the daytime AMHP rota by being called upon to undertake Mental Health Act assessments in the capacity of Approved Mental Health Professional.

Chair and minute Statutory Reviews for Looked After Children within agreed timescales so a care plan and permanency plan for each child is implemented without drift or delay.
Chair Child Protection conferences, identify risk and decide upon the need for a child to be subject to child protection plan, to ensure effective decision making about thresholds for child protection and child in need plans.
Provide professional consultation, advice support and challenge to social work practitioners/ managers on critical child protection decisions, and on care planning for children in care (looked after per Children Act 1989).
