An outstanding Commodity Manager - Indirect Services permanent position has arisen with a top-tier Engineering / Manufacturing organisation based in Uxbridge, West London / Middlesex. This is a hybrid role - 3 days office / 2 days homeworking As Commodity Services Manager in the Sourcing department, you'll be responsible for the strategic and operational management of key Indirect Product and Service Commodities, developing, implementing and shaping sourcing strategies and approaches for such commodities, ensuring the successful achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to procurement, aligned to organisational objectives. Responsibilities - Commodity Manager Manage, lead and develop a small team. Review spend and procurement processes of Indirect product and service categories, measuring against Quality, Cost and Delivery KPIs, identifying and managing risks. Support leaders and colleagues from the Programmes and Sourcing teams, providing cross-functional management to deliver plans. Define and maintain the formal supply chain risk register to ensure that appropriate mitigation plans are delivered to allow continued business operational outputs. Liaise with internal colleagues / suppliers to problem solve issues related to technical, quality or scheduling. Lead major supplier negotiations supported by Account Managers from the Sourcing team, compiling cost-based audit reports required for contracts and external government bodies. Skills & experience - Commodity Manager Seasoned Commodity Management experience in manufacturing or engineering business environments, commercial knowledge of commodities, materials and services. Team management experience, able to generate positive outputs through strong team leadership abilities. Familiarity with manufacturing methods and production models with relevant supply chain experience. Good understanding of purchasing/procurement processes and best practice approaches including knowledge of contracting processes and proven abilities with negotiating supplier terms and conditions. Strong interpersonal skills, able to influence and negotiate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. Able to analyse and interpret numerical data and make proposals/recommendations in clear and logical methods. Strongly desirable - abilities with reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications. MCIPS qualified.
